Upcoming Changes to the Full-Year Course

You may recall that NGPF updated its flagship Semester Course and released a brand new Trimester Course this past summer in 2023. Now, the Full-Year Course is getting a revamp! Keep reading to find out what’s changing, what’s staying the same, and more!

What’s changing?

  • Alignment to the Trimester Course and Semester Course: The Full-Year Course will have the same units as the Trimester and Semester Courses. The course will include almost all of the Semester Course lessons, plus brand new lessons to include content that was not covered in the Semester Course or to dive deeper into the content.
  • More Engaging Activities: Like the Trimester and Semester Courses, every lesson in the Full-Year Course will now feature a DO IT activity to engage students and provide an opportunity for them to apply what they’ve learned.
  • Nearpod: We’re excited to offer Nearpod decks for every lesson in the new Full-Year Course
  • A new course page similar to the Trimester Course and Semester Course pages

What is staying the same?

The Full-Year Course will still include:

  • Diagnostic and Final exams to assess your students’ learning and growth from the start of the course to the end
  • Unit tests for every unit (except Unit 1 on Behavioral Economics)
  • Every lesson is aligned to the National Standards for Personal Finance Education
  • Spanish translations available for all exams and some DO IT activities

With these changes, it will be easier for you to:

  • Compare the Trimester, Semester, and Full-Year Courses and choose the right one for you
  • Pare down or build up on content in the lessons
  • Mix and match units from all three courses and customize course length

FAQs

1. When will the new course be available?

The new Full-Year Course will be available in March 2024.

2. Will I be able to access the old Full-Year Course once the new one is released?

Yes, we will provide access to the old course through the end of the ‘23-’24 school year and for the entirety of the ‘24-’25 school year. Keep in mind that NGPF will no longer be maintaining the old course, so it may include outdated content and broken links. We highly encourage you to use the new version of the course as early as possible to access the most up-to-date and engaging content. After the ‘24-’25 school year, only the new course will be available.
