COMPARE: Charities

In this activity, students will:

  • identify and describe criteria that is used to compare charities
  • use an online database to compare charities of their choosing

RESEARCH: Types of Altruism

In this activity, students will be able to: 

  • Research ten vocabulary words that represent formalized forms of altruism, such as "nonprofit" and "donation" 
  • Collaborate on a class-wide slide deck and present their understandings of altruism to their classmates 
  • Distinguish the nuances of vocabulary related to philanthropy and altruism

PROJECT: Let’s Have a Philanthropy Meet Up!

In this activity, students will be able to:

  • Learn about some of the main causes philanthropists support, and who some key philanthropic organizations are around the world.

RESEARCH: Crowdfunding Web Quest
