ABOUT NGPF

Next Gen Personal Finance (NGPF) is a nonprofit on a mission to ensure that every U.S. high school student takes a personal finance course before they graduate. We provide free, high-quality curriculum, professional development, and support to educators and school district partners nationwide, helping them teach students how to manage money and make informed financial decisions.

More than 140,000 educators use NGPF resources, and our market size is expected to triple in the next several years as 20 new states are requiring students to take a personal finance course as a result of our advocacy efforts. We are a small but mighty team that values collaboration and a shared commitment to expanding access to financial education. Our work is fast-paced, meaningful, and driven by the impact we can have on the next generation.

ABOUT THE ROLE

We are looking for a marketing leader who can operate at the full scope of what this moment in the personal finance movement demands: building awareness and trust with classroom teachers, earning credibility with district administrators and state education leaders, and making the case to the donors and funders who power our mission.

This is a role for someone who knows how to build — a measurement framework, a high-performing team, a brand that earns its reputation in a space where trust is everything. You'll own the strategy, set the standard, and be accountable for outcomes that matter.

If you're energized by mission-driven work and want to lead marketing at an organization with genuine momentum, this is the role.

WHAT YOU'LL OWN

Strategy & Leadership

  • Own and drive NGPF's integrated marketing and communications strategy across all audiences — teachers, school district and state partners, and donors — ensuring alignment with NGPF’s mission and organizational goals
  • Translate organizational priorities into marketing strategy and report on outcomes and tradeoffs
  • Make resource allocation decisions across programs, channels, and audiences
  • Set the standard for how the marketing function operates and own team performance over time
  • Foster a culture of innovation within the marketing function to encourage creative thinking and explore new marketing approaches

Audience & Market Development

  • Oversee audience segmentation and positioning strategies to strengthen visibility, relevance, and engagement
  • Drive NGPF's digital presence and channel strategy — website, SEO, content, email, social, and organic and paid media — with a strategic focus on audience growth, engagement depth, and stakeholder segmentation
  • Align with Partnerships and Development on joint strategy and goals for institutional and funder relationships
  • Develop go-to-market strategies for new teacher-facing resources and services in partnership with Curriculum, Professional Development, and Product teams

Brand & Communications

  • Position NGPF as a national thought leader in K-12 personal finance education
  • Own NGPF's brand strategy; set the standard for voice, quality, and consistency across all external communications
  • Develop NGPF's PR strategy, including which narratives NGPF pursues, which press relationships matter most, and when to invest in earned media
  • Lead the production of NGPF's State of Financial Education report and other flagship documents - from strategic framing and audience goals through content direction, design oversight, and distribution

Analytics & Outcomes

  • Build NGPF's marketing measurement framework; decide which metrics matter, track performance across channels and audiences, and report outcomes
  • Use data to make prioritization calls, scale what is working, and stop what is not

WHO YOU'LL WORK WITH

  • You will manage: Marketing and Communications Manager, Creative Brand Manager

YOUR EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS

  • 10+ years of progressive experience in marketing and communications, with meaningful time spent in a senior or leadership role
  • Demonstrated experience in K-12 product marketing or similar - translating curriculum or educational technology products into compelling messaging for educator and administrator audiences
  • Experience managing owned digital channels (website, social media, email newsletters) with a strategic orientation toward audience growth and engagement
  • Strong marketing analytics proficiency — able to build and own a measurement framework, interpret data, and make prioritization decisions based on outcomes; experience with GA4 or similar platforms required
  • Experience managing and developing direct reports
  • Demonstrated comfort using AI tools in everyday workflows to increase output quality and efficiency
  • Experience operating at both the strategic and executional level in a lean, fast-moving organization
