Teacher PD Stipends for Colorado's Financial Literacy Graduation Requirement

$500 PD Stipend for Colorado public high school teachers to support implementation of HB25-1192.

House Bill 25-1192 was signed into law on May 23, 2025 by Governor Jared Polis, guaranteeing all Colorado public high school students will take a course that incorporates all of the financial literacy standards prior to graduation.

To ensure successful implementation of the personal finance course guarantee as required by HB25-1192, NGPF is providing $500 stipends for up to 400 active Colorado public high school teachers who complete 20 hours of NGPF Professional Development.

Beginning on January 1, 2026, the first 400 Colorado public high school teachers to complete 20+ hours of NGPF PD will earn a $500 stipend.

  • No application necessary. Login with your NGPF Teacher Account and register for PDs to get started.
  • Stipends are paid once per quarter (April 15, July 15, October 15 and January 15) as $500 Amazon eGifts cards emailed directly to Colorado public high school teachers who have accrued 20 hours of NGPF Professional Development after January 1, 2026.
  • Any combination of NGPF PD counts toward educators' 20 hours for the stipend.
    • Certification Courses: 10 hours of live instruction delivered over a five-week period in 11 different content areas including behavioral economics, cryptocurrency basics, insurance and investing.
    • On-Demand modules: Build content knowledge through 40+ self-paced, asynchronous modules that cover a wide range of personal finance topics.
    • Virtual PD: Live virtual events offered multiple times weekly to help you brush up on your content knowledge and collaborate with other educators.
    • FinCamps: earn 7 hours of PD credit by attending one of our in-person collaborative workshops.

Program FAQs - Colorado Financial Literacy Teacher Stipends

Who is eligible to receive the $500 professional development stipend? 

All Colorado public high school teachers. Note: Funding is limited to the first 400 Colorado public high school teachers who complete 20 hours of NGPF professional development starting January 1, 2026.

Where can I sign up for these professional development workshops?

Registration is easy and all NGPF PD is free. Visit ngpf.org/teacher-pd

How will the stipends be provided?

Eligible teachers will receive an email with a $500 Amazon e-gift card as a stipend. NGPF will automatically tally your hours and notify you if/when you are a recipient of the grant after the quarter in which you complete the 20 credits. (Not immediately upon reaching 20 hours.)

Stipends are paid approximately:

  • Apr 15 for quarter Jan 1 - Mar 31
  • Jul 15 for quarter April 1 - Jun 30
  • Oct 15 for quarter July 1 - Sep 30
  • Jan 15 for quarter Oct 1 - Dec 31

To avoid delays:

  1. Please confirm your school and state is listed correctly in your NGPF Account > My Profile
  2. If you use NGPF On Demand modules as part of your 20+ hours for the stipend, please note that each module is designed to take about 1 hour to complete and takes our team up to 10 days to review. Answer questions in-depth to ensure that you receive credit for completed modules.

I already completed 20 hours of NGPF PD before the start of this program on January 1, 2026. Will I receive a $500 stipend for this prior work?

No. The $500 stipend will only be given for hours completed on or after January 1, 2026. 

If I complete 40 hours of PD, will I be eligible for a second stipend?

To reach as many teachers as possible, each teacher is only eligible for one $500 Amazon eGift card under this program. We encourage everyone to take as much PD as desired to prepare to teach this life-changing course!
